James Young's Challenge to critics. To all sceptics and critics who have made adverse comments about my videos on YouTube: Take the James Young ***CHALLENGE*** Reading the comments you have made it is abundantly clear to me that your knowledge of Astrology is poor, often based on hearsay, what you have read in a Sun Sign book or the newspapers, or what your friends or other people have told you. I assert that none of you has sufficient working knowledge of Astrology to mount a fair and reasoned critique. Therefore...
I challenge you to prove me wrong and show how good your knowledge of Astrology is.
Entrance requirements: The challenge is open to all who have made critical or sceptical comments in response to my videos on Astrology on YouTube. Entrants will be required to supply furnish evidence that they have made at least 2 critical comments by indicating clearly what the content is and on which video it has been posted. Those who have made sarcastic videos, such as unclefeedle and shandk, are also eligible but have thus far choosen to evade the challenge.

Stage 1. You will be asked 10 questions on basic Astrology. A score of at least 8 correct answers is needed before you can move on to the next stage. Those who cannot achieve this score will be deemed to have failed the challenge. Note; This is a test of existing knowledge. In order to prevent cheating by those who think it is perfect acceptable to get their answers from books or other sources, a time limit on supplying answers is in force.
Stage 2. You will be given the birth data of a real person and asked to type out a report giving the main character traits of this person. To do this you need to calculate and draw a chart then interpret it. You must cover general character traits, personality, mentality, and emotional responses. A minimum of 3 pages of A4 is required. Those who cannot do this successfully will be deemed to have failed the challenge.
Stage 3. You will be required to detail the future trends for the same person for the next 12 months. You must include Transits, Progressions, and Directions. Solar return is optional. Those who cannot will be deemed to have failed the challenge.
This test requires you do do no more than a traditional Astrologer is asked to do in the normal course of his work.
Any critic or sceptic who does manage to succeed will have their success publicly declared by myself on this web site and will entitled to be known thereafter as an accredited critic. The success or failure of each applicant will be reported on my web site.

Those who criticise Astrology now have a chance to prove to the public that they know what they are talking about. Failure to respond to this challenge will indicate to the wider public that they are making criticisms they are unable to substantiate.
Statistics. Classic mistakes and evasions. 1] Some applicants are complaining that they do not know which books to refer to! Yet these are the people who claim to know all about Astrology - why do they need to refer to books? 2] The challenge is biased because I am using my own version of Astrology and therefore they have no chance to win. Wrong! I use the same standards and principles that all traditional Astrologers use and these are well publicised. 3] My test isn't fair because I am the judge! Is there no end to the silliness?
Applicants: only 2. Applicant 1 [lovasip] pulled out after promising to take my challenge - didn't have the courage to contact me about this, instead continued to carry on making absurd and insulting comments. Has since changed his mind [again] but is making demands that are not acceptable. Applicant 2 took stage 1 and failed with a score of 1/10.
Refusals. The critic Lennyhipp has refused outright to take the challenge, giving no reason other than he thought it was deluded. 'Deluded' is a word Lenny the Loony uses whenever he is unable to give a rational answer - which is quite often. A person calling himself Roybot who has repeatedly made insulting comments refused to take the challenge. Many other critics, including the great shanedk, have been challenged and all have avoided making a response. It poses the question, what exactly are these people afraid of? Could it be that they lack the necessary knowledge?
