Robbie
Williams.
With
the recent news that Robbie has once again found himself in rehab this
time with a different drugs problem, I thought it would be a good idea
to look at his chart to see what the likely causes are.
One
of the problems with show business is the pressures it can create for
celebs, pressures that sometimes lead to escapism through alcohol or
drugs, and the more popular the celeb, the greater the temptation. Many
have fallen by the wayside, some have even died. Apart from the general
pressures, each person is an individual and will respond according to
their own personal traits, so what makes Robbie a victim apart from the
general temptations?
To
begin with, Robbie has his Sun in Aquarius and it is generally well
aspected. Particularly useful is the conjunction with Jupiter which
brings a joyful and expansive outlook, not to mention many valuable
opportunities. The square to Mars brings in difficulties because it indicates a
tendency to drive himself too hard and he will find resting and relaxing
is not easy. Physical exhaustion may be a problem and the temptation to
use substances to keep his energy going may have lead him into dangerous
territory. This aspect will also cause problems with other people and
could well be a contributory fact leading to his split with former
members of the band. It also doesn't bode well for long term
relationships.
Relationships
seem to be a key factor. Sun Aquarius people are generally very friendly
and easy to get on with - up to a point. As freedom-lovers they need
lots of space and don't like to be tied down or restricted. With his Sun
also in the 7th House of close relationships, this could be a problem
not easy to solve and one that can cause inner stress. More important is
the square from the Moon as this shows a distinct rift in his nature, a
conflict between who he is and wishes to be versus his emotional needs.
It will be difficult for him to deal with ever-changing moods and a
tendency to lose confidence or back away from the very people who can be
helpful and understanding. Touchiness and a tendency to be defensive may
also be present. Emotional difficulties will certainly spill over into
relationships making it very difficult to express his feelings. perhaps
being inwardly afraid of rejection. I think he will also suffer from the
paradox of wanting to be close and to be loved but feeling smothered if
it happens. The whole thing can be very difficult to live with and may
also amplify the need to escape.
The
root of the problem stems from early childhood, a childhood that appears
to have been marred with emotional traumas leading to deep-rooted
feelings of insecurity. He is in some ways stuck in the past, and
although he would like to break free and become himself, somehow this
early conditioning holds him back. I don't think the relationship with
his mother was helpful [Moon in Scorpio] and there will be elements of
this that need to be faced.
Staying
with relationships, the ruler of his 7th House is Uranus which has a
square aspect from Venus, this planet also being associated with
personal interactions. This, again, is not easy to live with as it tries
to reconcile the need for personal freedom with intimacy, two principles
that are diametrically opposed. Tension is inevitable as he tries to do
this, sometimes in the most bizarre ways. He is given to being impulsive
and will make sudden, inexplicable changes in direction that people
close to him may find exasperating. Co-operation will not be easy.
Relationships will suddenly occur and just as easily break down.
Basically, his feelings sometimes dominate his will making him difficult
to reason with or even understand, and talking about his feelings will
be very difficult - yet this is one way of helping him go a long way to solving
his problems.
Venus
is also afflicted by Neptune, creating its own strange problems, such as
'divine discontent'. Perfectionism will be a real problem because he is
constantly looking for the 'perfect' partner yet no one will ever be
able to come up to his expectations, resulting in disappointments and
disillusionment. He is too easily swayed emotionally and may as a result
find himself attracted to the wrong person and yet unable to back away
through fears of 'scenes'. Some unscrupulous people will try to use him
for their own selfish reasons - they see him as a soft touch and easy
prey, and of course this only leads to more disillusionment and inner
stress with the real possibility of seeking escape through drugs and alcohol.
I
should stress that these aspects in themselves are unlikely to cause the
problems Robbie faces now, but if one adds to this the very real
pressures of his work and the often strange lifestyle that celebs have
to live these days, then it adds up to a potentially serious situation
that will keep coming back to haunt him until the real problems are
addressed, and in this respect I think that his relationship and
emotional problems should be high on the agenda.
