Kate
Moss.

Love
her or loathe her, the one thing you can't do with this lady is ignore
her as the ever hungry and increasingly sensational media continually
try to find something to say about her, preferably something
controversial. Doesn't sound like a normally reserved and cautious
Capricorn, does it? Okay, so let's put the Sun Sign interpretations
where they belong - in the bin - and get down to understanding the
real Kate Moss.
Unfortunately
her time of birth is unknown so I have
used the normal approach of using midday until such information is available.
This means that her Ascendant
and the true position of the Moon is unknown, which does limit the
accuracy of the this brief report and also limits the amount of information I can extract from the chart.
Notice
how the majority of planets are pushed over to the Eastern side of the
chart and are mainly opposed by the lone planets Mars and Saturn. This
shows a person who is self-seeking and something of a personal
go-getter, yet the opposing planets are likely to cause problems and
prove to be a source of distraction needing constant attention. Mars
suggests a stormy social and romantic life while Saturn acts like a
brake, slowing things down and perhaps bringing in feelings of being
over burdened or a reluctance to fully engage with co-workers. The
upshot is one of constantly having to deal with two opposing forces,
which must be very stressful and destabilising at times.
Kate's
Sun is in Capricorn, a Sign noted for being ambitious and worldly. Her
Sun is conjunct Mercury giving her the ability to focus all her mind on
the task in hand but also produces a narrowing of perspective and the
possibility of 'putting all her eggs in one basket'. Good for career,
not so good for other matters. Notice also that here we have a
contradiction; one the one hand highly focused, on the other torn
between extremes. In examining birth charts one often finds this kind of
anomaly and the outcome is one of alternating moods, thoughts, and
actions which can make a person appear unpredictable at times.
Her
Sun is in square aspect to Uranus, and this is one of the main keys to
her strange behavior in public. Her primary need is for personal freedom
- nothing wrong with that - but it is how she achieves it that is the
problem, at least as far as the media is concerned. She can be very
stubborn and resistant to being told what to do, in fact the more she
feels she is being forced to do something, the more she will dig in and
refuse to comply or even listen. Quite often she will find herself doing
something that she knows is wrong but somehow is impelled to continue,
sometimes with bad results. She suffers from great nervous tension which
is not easy to live with and will cause her to behave unpredictably or
be a source of exasperation to others. Her obvious success has, if
anything, made the problem even more severe.
Her
ruling planet - Saturn - gives mixed messages. Uranus aspecting Saturn
gives her dogged persistence and the ability not to allow people or
situations to sidetrack her. She has good managerial skills, knows what
she wants and goes all out to get it. Endless patience combined with an
excellent sense of timing means that she is prepared to wait for just
the right moment to act, and then does so decisively. In contrast, Pluto
suggests that it is not easy to handle or even understand her emotions.
Emotional difficulties, deep-rooted fears, and an general uncertainty
about life will be in evidence. She may also find it hard to trust
people and yet can, on occasions, give way too easily leaving a lasting
impression and possibly some resentment.
Saturn
lies in her Solar 6th House, suggesting that work is a dominant factor
in her life and a nice aspect from Uranus suggests that her individual
approach will be highly successful. She has the knack of doing the right
thing at the right time. In contrast, that awkward square from Pluto is
likely to cause major problems and enforced changes, as indeed has been
the case recently when after the media frenzy her work scenario suffered
setbacks as contracts were canceled. Uranus came to the rescue and saw
her bouncing back as if nothing had happened. The danger of being used
by unscrupulous people is very real and I suspect that this has already
happened in the past.
Kate's
relationship issues have been media fodder for some time. The Sign of
Cancer and the Moon rule close relationships and her Moon is in the
deeply emotional and secretive Sign of Scorpio. The full story will
probably never be known as she is not one to let the media intrude into
her private life. I can't add much more as the aspects to her Moon are
as yet unknown. I can say that with a highly afflicted Mars in her Solar
5th House, her social and romantic life is something of a battleground,
and the aspects from Pluto and Neptune suggest that she can be used by
people with a hidden agenda, or lead astray. It can't be easy to cope
with the stress and uncertainty either. Venus offers more hope even if
it does add to the complexity. Two wonderful aspects from Neptune and
Pluto mean that at least part of her relationship needs are likely to be
fulfilled and that the deep love she so desperately needs will come
along and that there will be some associations that are truly
life-changing.
I
think by now you can see that the 'typical' Sun Sign interpretations are
far removed from reality of her life because, apart from the aspects to
the Sun, one has to take the whole chart into consideration. Sun Sign
Astrology doesn't do this, which is why it is way off the mark, even if
it does have an appeal through its simplicity.
Future
trends for the next 12 months.
Her
ruling planet - Saturn - lies in the 8th House in her Solar Return chart
with mixed aspects. The 8th House is very secretive and if we add in the
fact that there are also 4 planets in the 12th - another secretive House
- then it is fair to say that something is happening in Kate's life that
we are not likely to see until she is ready to reveal it - providing
that the ever-eager media don't get a whiff of it and turn it into a
circus as they normally do. Part of the process shows that she is
undergoing a deep change both in herself and in her general direction in
life and there is every chance of success. My one concern is that the opposition
from Neptune could mean that she is not seeing things clearly and the
possibility exists that part of the plan has serious flaws, especially
from a financial point of view. There is also the risk of being used or
being deceived.
That
wonderful Venus-Neptune aspect comes together as a conjunction and may
well give her the emotional satisfaction that often eludes her. It may
also mark the beginning of a new phase in relationships and there could
also be financial benefits as well.
