As so often happens, I have no time of birth to work with so the position of the Ascendant is unknown as are the aspects to the Moon.

The first thing I notice in David's current Solar Return chart is a Kite shape with the focus in his 7th House which would indicate that relationships are likely to be of great importance during this Solar year. This will not only include his wife but also associations for business purposes. The focal planet is Jupiter, residing in Scorpio and ruling his 8th House of joint finances, and the suggestion from this is that here we have a turning point in his life involving a fundamental change in his financial status. But how will this work out?

The one thing any Astrologer must do before making a prediction is to check the birth chart to see if a current aspect exists there and, if it does, take especial note of the type of aspect as it could make a huge difference to the forecast. Looking at the aspects to Jupiter, I see that Uranus and Neptune are casting beneficial aspects in the Solar Return but that they are in difficult aspect in the birth chart. Here we have a worse case scenario - opportunities giving the appearance of being beneficial yet the outcome is exactly the reverse. 

Uranus suggests hasty decisions, projects that may suddenly amount to nothing, and initial popularity turning sour. Not a good start. Neptune will see any early promises also going badly. Something is being withheld, or there may even be deliberate deception by people with big ideas who are using David for their own selfish ends. Things are not being thought through, they are idealistic rather than practical and sooner or later it could all go wrong. David, on the other hand, is beginning to believe anything is now possible, and this is the real problem because there is a most definite blind spot preventing him from seeing the reality of the situation and what lies ahead. 

I am greatly concerned about Neptune in other ways. It lies in his 10th House at the point of a stressful T-square and also has another deceptive aspect from Mercury. This reiterates what I have already said, but it also point to the very real possibility of a public scandal in which private matters are made public. It may be connected to his career move, but it could equally cause more personal problems. He needs to be very careful what he says and he needs to guard his privacy carefully. 

Venus is David's ruling planet which at the moment resides in Pisces in his 11th House, indicating deep longings that are hard to satisfy and may cause mistake to be made. More important is the distinct possibility of money matters getting into a tangle with extravagance and losses and also the chance that certain people will take advantage. The aspect from Pluto to Venus is perhaps the most damaging and strongly suggests a difficult period in which he will feel under pressure and may make errors of judgment with respect to finances and close associations. Something may come to light that causes great concern.

As you can see, it is all too easy for would-be Astrologers to look at a chart like this and immediately conclude this is going  to be a wonderful time for David. Initially it will be, but the aspects in the natal chart tell of a different outcome.
