Recent press stories concerning the rather bizarre behaviour of this young lady prompted me to examine her chart, and this is what I found.

Her Sun lies in Sagittarius with mixed aspects suggesting that she generally likes to enjoy life and get around. Personal freedom is important to her, especially freedom of expression. Her Moon is in good aspect which certainly helps her self confidence and gives her a good rapport with the public, and she has the ability to get on well with people and move easily in social circles, gathering popularity as she goes. Mercury in conjunction with the Sun gives her an astute and well focused mind with a great sense of perception and a good amount of common sense. So why does she keep going off the rails? More on this as we proceed. 

Pluto afflicts her Sun, and here we have a troublesome combination because it can cause major changes in her life which are likely to be traumatic and leave her having to pick up the pieces and make the best of the new scenario she finds herself in. It often indicates deep-rooted emotional problems, problems that will tend to affect her ability to relate closely to people and a tendency to be impulsive in financial matters. 

Jupiter is her ruling planet, has mixed aspects, and lies in her 1st House in the Sign of Libra, so I would expect ups and downs in relationships and times when her judgement is not too good. Venus squares Jupiter and this is almost invariably and indicator of extravagance and lost opportunities, mainly through careless actions. An excess of feelings means she expects so much out of life and other people that these desires are difficult, if not impossible, to satisfy, and this is especially true in relationships where it will be difficult to settle down with one person. Certain individuals will seek to take advantage but she may not see it that way. Uranus also afflicts Jupiter bringing with it an underlying nervous tension that will be hard to overcome and may see her acting impulsively and being sometimes unpredictable. Her need for personal freedom is high, so it isn't easy to settle into a pattern. She may have short-lived enthusiasms or her opinions may suddenly and inexplicably change, making her difficult to deal with and hard to understand. Finally, Jupiter is conjunct Pluto, which is not an easy aspect to handle as it contains so much energy. She seeks to enjoy life to the full with intense enthusiasm and pursues her goals single mindedly, letting nothing stand in her way, and making use of whatever resources [and people] are available. A real go-getter.  

I am concerned about her Mars in the 12th House as this House can be the cause of hard to diagnose problems, most of which are down to emotional uncertainty and an over-active imagination. However, this is Mars we are dealing with, and it also happens to be the ruler of her 7th House of close relationships. There is a great deal of locked in pain. perhaps some of it down to unsatisfactory relationships in the past or perhaps it's a case of being too self critical and hard on herself. Adding to the overall confusion is a square from Neptune which greatly amplifies the problem, making things seem worse that they really are - nevertheless she will be prone to suffering inner emotional pain and it will not be easy to get to the cause and cure it. Fortunately, a helpful Venus is capable of assisting through certain people who will try very hard to help - providing she gets everything out into the open. 

So, there are issues to be addressed here, but would they cause the recent strange behaviour? Time to look at what is happening in her chart at the moment. 

Her transits reveal that Pluto is afflicting her Moon, which will be emotionally unsettling but not critical as this configuration does not exist on her birth chart. More important is the difficult aspect to Jupiter from Uranus as this is natally configured and therefore has consequences. She will be prone to acting unpredictably and making snap judgements that are flawed. Could this be the cause of her recent problem? Perhaps, but I think it is only a contributory factor rather than the main culprit, and I say this because her Solar Return reveals some interesting facts.

I should add that the first thing that would-be Astrologers need to take on board is that Transits don't always supply the answers or give a complete picture. Apart from Progression and Directions it is really essential to examine the Solar Return chart. 

Without going into any great detail, two things stand out in this chart. Firstly her Moon is in a lonely position in the 7th House, having only one aspect a difficult sesquiquadrate from Venus - a double whammy! This is emotionally disturbing and will make her feel all alone and unloved with no one to turn to. She desperately needs someone to be close to but can't seem to find him, or is unable to express her feelings even if she did. Not an easy situation to live with. Social success will be equally hard to achieve and she might end up accepting invitations that are contrary to her real nature with disappointing results. 

Secondly, her Sun is in a similar situation of having only one aspect, this time a square from Uranus. This aspect alone acting through her 5th House is highly likely to be the main cause of her recent behaviour because it will impel her to act unpredictably, mainly for the purpose of attracting attention. It would be all too easy to conclude that this is just another show business stunt, but I don't think so. I think she is desperately trying to find a way out of her emotional problems and is just reacting to the inner stress. 

The good news is that both of these aspects carry no long-term consequences, but they might just make her aware that other issues need to be addressed if she is to find happiness - which I hope the she does.
