 Good morning.

3rd July 2006.

New developments are continuing apace. I will soon be able to supply courses by e-mail in addition to the normal printed version. Naturally the price will reflect the savings in time and materials. More on this later this week.

The technical problems with video demos has now been solved so I should be able to put them online for immediate download fairly soon. In the main they will be demos of Astrological techniques, such as how to read a birth chart or an aspect grid, and they will be absolutely free.

Jonathan Cainer.

King of the Sun Sign Cowboys Jonathan Cainer is now pushing his 'new' book on Cosmic Ordering. This is typical of those who spend their time imitating the work of others while adding nothing to the subject. If you must buy a book - buy the original rather than someone's comments. Better still, don't spend your money at all - it doesn't work anyway other than for the author who will make millions.

Jenna.

Scam-Astrologer Jenna, otherwise known as Angela, has a new web site, pro16.abac.com. It's still the same old rip-off though.

4th July 2006. Forecasts - transits.

I thought it would be a good idea to discuss Astrological predictions, or future trends to be more correct. There are 4 methods used - transits, progressions, directions and the Solar return - and each one is essential if we are to get the whole picture. Sadly, most reports do not. Instead they concentrate only on transits, making extensive use of the quicker moving planets in order to pad out the report, which is why some are offered with up to 100 pages. Without dwelling too much on this I can say with every confidence that reports using these standards will be way off the mark.

Today I will begin to look at transits. A transit is simply the connection [aspect] made by a planet moving in the heavens to a planet or an Angle in a chart, resulting in activity in keeping with the nature of the planets involved. However, there are certain considerations. Only the transits of the three outer planets [Uranus, Neptune and Pluto] are of any significance and while it could be argued that Jupiter and Saturn will produce some effect this shouldn't be relied on. The remaining planets can be classified as insignificant in their effect.

How strong the effect will be is determined by the natal [birth] chart and the rules are quite simple.

1] If the configuration formed by the transit exists in whatever form in the birth chart then the effect will be strong and will have lasting effects. The nature of the effect is more complex and resolves into three possibilities which I will discuss tomorrow.

2] If the configuration formed by the transit does not exist in the birth chart then the effects will be strong but temporary, in other words they will pass leaving no permanent effect.

More tomorrow.

5th July 2006. Forecasts - Progressions.

Continuing with an examination of techniques available to Astrologers for deducing future trends, today we will look at Progressions. There are several, but only the method known as Secondary Progressions is really useful.

This method uses the idea that each day counted from your birthday is equivalent to 1 year of life, so by calculating a chart for a particular year of age we can then see if any aspects form between this and the birth chart. Only the quicker-moving planets form aspects, that is from the Moon to Mars, the remaining ones are unlikely to produce aspects as they move too slowly. The effects of progressions tend to be powerful with the exception of the Moon. I find that the only aspect worth considering is the conjunction. Changes of Sign or House are significant, though.

More tomorrow.

6th July 2006. Forecasts - Directions.

Today I will examine the third method of discerning future trends known as Directions. These are often confused with Progressions but in fact are quite different in that they use symbolic measure rather than real time. There are several methods but the best technique by far is the 1 degree method, and it has the advantage of being very simple to calculate. Just take the person's age in years and add this to each planet's birth position and then see if any aspects to the birth planets are formed, such aspects being used to forecast likely events. Although simple, this method is very accurate. A variation of this, known as Solar Arc, has been around for some time, but in my opinion it is unproven and best ignored.

Tomorrow - the Solar Return chart.

7th July 2006. Forecasts - Solar Return chart.

As predicted, Mercury retrograde is doing its worst. This morning my e-mail simply wouldn't work for a while and my ISP experienced major problems, causing it to be offline and resulting in numerous web sites being unavailable, including mine!

Continuing with the theme of future trends, I will now look at the Solar Return chart, an essential part of forecasting. A Solar Return chart is cast for the exact moment that a person's Sun return to its birth position - hence the expression.' Many happy returns'. The amount of information made available by this method is truly astounding. A full picture of the year ahead can be determined by examining this chart just as one would with a birth chart, except this time we are looking at the year ahead.

The position of the Sun by House gives an immediate indication of the main direction life is likely to take during the coming year. So, for example, if the Sun is in the 9th House, I would expect to see that person spending far more time traveling and reaching out to the world than they would normally do. An interest in more philosophical topics or even a need to study is also possible. The remaining planets also add their influence to the overall picture. In addition, any planets forming aspects to the birth chart are also significant. This really is is a remarkable chart and quite indispensable in forecasting future trends.

So, the bottom line is that all four methods, Transits, Progressions, Directions and Solar Return are necessary if one is to get a full picture of how the future is likely to shape up. Regrettably, the fake Astrologers and the Sun Sign Cowboys use only Transits, and to make matters worse they feature the transits from the quicker-moving planets in order to pad out their computer reports. Such reports are unlikely to be prophetic. If you want accuracy, you need all four. My reports use all four.

10th July 2006. Important questions about Astrology.

One of the things that fascinated me about Astrology was the sheer depth of the subject; almost every week I find something new to ponder, yet this can dazzle one into missing even more profound insight that is often right under one's nose. Those of us who have studied the subject know full well how absorbing it can be but how many of us take our thinking and our curiosity that bit further, using that all-important word WHY?

We know that Astrology is ancient, perhaps thousands of years old, but were did it come from? It is all too easy to accept the commonly held belief that is was gradually 'discovered' by ancient man as he observed the heavens and drew comparisons, but further examination suggests that this is not true. In fact it is way off the mark as I shall attempt to explain this week.

11th July 2006. Important questions cont'd.

I have become increasingly doubtful that Astrology was gradually 'discovered' by ancient man; it sounds plausible, but doesn't really add up when one begins to ask questions.

An Astrological chart is based on the ecliptic circle - the apparent path of the Sun through the heavens as seen from Earth. I say 'apparent' because as we all know the Sun doesn't travel round the Earth, rather it is the other way round. If we now extend the circle of the equator out into space until it meets up with the ecliptic, the point of intersection - known as 0 degrees Aries - marks the beginning of the Zodiac. Now, here is the interesting thing. In order to erect an Astrological chart one has to know a] That there is an ecliptic circle and b] That there is an equatorial circle. More importantly, why would someone come up with the idea that the intersection of the two marks the beginning of the Zodiac when they had no idea that the Zodiac even exists! I mean it's not the sort of thing one would occupy one's mind  back in ancient times when even surviving captivated most of Man's attention. More tomorrow...

Latest: Fake Astrologer Sara Freder is still sending me e-mails containing rash promises despite the fact that none of previous 'predictions' have come true.  More Here >

12 July 2006. Jonathan Cainer & Cosmic Ordering.

Fake Astrologer Jonathan Cainer has now abandoned Astrology in favour of his latest fad  Cosmic Ordering, a  get-rich-quick system he has borrowed from a previous author. His office staff turn out his 'personal' reports while a computer takes care of his Tarot readings. I confidently predict that thousands of people will be conned into believing that Cainer's book will solve all their problems and make them rich. I also predict that the same people will be disappointed. It's all been done before and, save one or two, the only people to get rich are the authors of these books. Don't be fooled. See the full file on Cainer Here >

Who discovered Astrology continued...

Having 'discovered the ecliptic circle, the circle of the equator and somehow worked out that the Zodiac he has never even heard of begins at the intersection of these he now for some unknown reason divides the ecliptic into 12 equal parts we now know as the Zodiac. Why 12? Why not 10 or some other number? He then begins to understand that each of these segments has well-defined properties. How did he know this? It couldn't be worked out by any other means other than by observation over a long period - unless he got the information from some other source. The Zodiac wasn't invented by man - it was already there.

The Zodiac is complex in its nature and beautifully arranged. Each Sign has three distinct attributes and is unlike any other Sign. They are:

1. The QUALITIES (sometimes known as Quadruplicities).

CARDINAL. Aries Cancer Libra, Capricorn

FIXED. Leo Scorpio Aquarius Taurus

MUTABLE. Sagittarius Pisces Gemini Virgo

2. The ELEMENTS (sometimes known a Triplicities).

FIRE. Aries Leo Sagittarius

WATER Cancer Scorpio Pisces

AIR Libra Aquarius Gemini

EARTH Capricorn Taurus Virgo

3. The POLARITIES.

POSITIVE Signs. Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Libra, Aquarius, Gemini.

NEGATIVE Signs. Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo.

Could anyone invent this arrangement? I doubt it. More tomorrow...

13th July 2006. Important questions cont'd. The Zodiac.

The arrangement of the Signs of the Zodiac is truly wonderful when one considers that there are 12 Signs and three Modes in perfectly symmetrical arrangement in which no two Signs are the same. How could anyone know this? Even if we say that it was deduced by observation, one would still have to know that there were 3 modes in the first place - and how could anyone know this?

The mystery deepens when one considers the planets. How could ancient man know about the planets? The Sun and Moon are quite obvious. Mercury is almost invisible being so close to the Sun, Venus is more easily seen. Mars can also be seen with the naked eye but Jupiter and Saturn far less so unless in close proximity to the Earth. In any case, planets don't move quickly so how could anyone notice that certain 'stars' were moving. Have a look at the night sky and tell me if you notice any movement from night to night. Why would ancient man want to spend his time looking into the heavens in the first place? It is extremely doubtful that he was thinking to himself, 'Oh, I wonder if anything is moving around up there.'  It could be argued that Venus could be seen to be changing its position and from this one's curiosity could be aroused into looking for more moving stars, but just how long would it take to spot these in the vastness of the night sky, even if you could see the other planets without a telescope? Furthermore, even if you have discovered the planets, how could you predict their movement without mathematics and all the other paraphernalia needed? Yet knowing the precise positions of the planets at any given moment in time is essential for Astrology to work, and here we are talking about a subject that is at least 10.000 years old and probably older. Continued tomorrow...

14th July 206. Important questions cont'd.

The more I study Astrology the more convinced I am that the accepted explanations concerning its discovery and evolvement are wrong. For far too long we have listened to so-called experts who have coloured our thinking about the past. Darwinism, for example, is that popular theory held by science to be the absolute truth of man's origins, yet to evidence of 'evolution' has ever been found - it is a myth. Science cannot accept that there are other explanations because scientists are too narrow-minded and arrogant to believe anything other than their own pet theories -and I stress the word theory, for that is what some of them are even though they are presented as 'fact'. And, how often are these theories thrown on the scrap heap when some new theory comes along? Theories that were at the time absolute.

Thanks to archaeology we have a picture of our past - but is it accurate. We have only their word that it is, yet the explanations offered to you and I have in some instances more holes in them than a colander! Can we really believe that Stonehenge was built by savages with nothing better to do that to pander to some supposed religious ideal? Carbon dating proves it, they say. But how do you carbon date the time a stone was placed in the ground. You can't date a site based on the artifacts you found there - they could have been put there thousands of years after the event.

It's exactly the same with Astrology. If we accept the ideas of scientists - who incidentally think that the entire subject should be ridiculed - then we will get nowhere. Why would an enemy seek to do you a favour? The truth is far stranger than they would have us believe - a truth you will also discover if you take the time to ask the all-important question why?

17th July 2006. Jonathan Cainer & Cosmic Ordering.

Cosmic Ordering. As this site is primarily concerned with Astrology, I wouldn't normally mention it, but with the entry of Jonathan Cainer into the arena it seems necessary to comment. Cainer, realising the potential for lucrative earnings, appears to have jumped on the bandwagon, adding little of nothing to the original idea. I predict he will make a lot of money out of this - but will he refund your money when it all fails? I doubt it.

This type of scam has been around for decades and emerges fairly regularly. Briefly, it baits the hook with the promise of untold wealth, or indeed the idea of having anything you want, simply by asking the Universe, God, or some strange force which is then granted to you no questions asked. It is the ultimate get-rich-quick scheme - something for nothing. But does it work? The answer for the vast majority of people is an emphatic no. The only people to profit by these methods are the authors! It seems very tempting but my advice is don't waste your money on this scam, I promise you that apart from the few who by chance will succeed, everyone else will fail.

18th July 2006. Jonathan Cainer & Cosmic Ordering.

Cosmic Ordering. A simple question. Was the author fabulously wealthy and very successful in life before the book was written? No, of course not. Is the author wealthy now? Yes. Conclusion: Something is wrong here. Surely if the methods worked then the author would have already reaped the benefits. It seems that the only way to make Cosmic Ordering work is to write a book on it. Those who purchase the book will almost certainly lose out.

Jonathan Cainer was wealthy before writing his secondhand version, so why is he bothering? More money, simple as that. The fact that you will fail miserably if you buy his book and try his ideas won't bother him.

Time and time again the pattern repeats itself as some new guru emerges into the limelight declaring that they have found the secret of fabulous wealth. They have. By selling thousands of get-rich-quick books they become wealthy. You, the public, make them wealthy yet get nothing in return. Always remember:

If it seems too good to be true it probably is.

More on the Jonathan Cainer Cosmic Ordering scam. Here>

21st July 2006. Jonathan Cainer & Cosmic Ordering. Sun Sign Astrology.

Part time Astrologer Jonathan Cainer is having trouble selling his book on Cosmic Ordering according to his own web site, so he has had to spend a great deal of time doing promotional work. I have asked Cainer to tell me who is producing his 'personal' reports and reading people's Tarot cards while he is away from his office. As usual, I don't expect a reply, so we will all have to assume that these are computer scams.

Astrology is a subject of great depth requiring time and patience to understand and use it, so for centuries it was practiced by the very few who took the time and trouble to do so. Then came Sun Sign Astrology which allowed anyone to become an Astrologer almost overnight. All you had to do was learn the characteristics of each Sign and as for the rest... well simply ignore it, or use the bits you  need. Then, exaggerate a little, by telling people that their Sun Sign alone had all the information and answers to life they need. After all, who was going to question any of this? Astrologers? Oh well, just ignore them, or pretend they are cranks.

Suddenly Astrology is made available to everyone. No need to bother about the rest of the chart or complicated things like aspects, orbs, House placement and the like, your Sun Sign is all it takes to know all about yourself. One of the reasons it became so popular, apart from the fact that no one listened to the voices of the wise, is that it instantly gives everyone an 'identity', a sense of individuality, that seemed to be linked to Cosmic forces and so made a person 'special'. Wherever you go you will hear statements like, 'I am a Gemini' or some other Sign. Note the 'I am'. Not that people can be blamed for failing to understand the basic principles of the Art. Far from it. When one is constantly bombarded with horoscopes emanating from supposed experts one naturally assumes that they - in reality fake Astrologers - are talking profound sense, which of course is not true. Likewise, statements such as, 'I am a Sagittarius, should I marry a Scorpio?' show just how much the Sun Sign Astrologers have tainted the thoughts of people and stretched the bounds of credibility to breaking point. Questions like these are fundamentally wrong because Sun Signs can't provide answers to such problems. One has to examine the charts of both parties in full.

The fakes, often hiding behind grand-sounding titles and flashy websites, have realised that with little knowledge they can become wealthy and famous beyond their dreams by simply reading a few books and copying others. No need to study the subject, just use the bits you like. No need to make accurate predictions, just say the first thing than comes into your head. And, of course, make a real killing by selling computer reports that give the impression that you have climbed down from your pedestal and are taking the time to study someone's chart just for them. Then make sure that you cater for all tastes by telling everyone about their love life, finances, home life, work, career, and the like - all from their Sun Sign. Brilliant! In the meantime, real Astrology is being dragged down to gutter level and is unfairly treated by critics who assume that every Astrologer is a fake.

The Sun Sign is only one factor out of the many that make up the whole chart and so the character. What about the aspects to the Sun? What about the House position of the Sun? These are conveniently ignored by the Sun Sign Cowboys, yet from a Sun Sign point of view they are essential. The truth of the matter is that if you really want to know about yourself and your affairs then you should get a genuine Astrologer to interpret your chart.

23rd July 2006. The Jonathan Cainer tour of bookshops.

According to Cainer, book sales are not going as planned so he is intending to undergo a tour of bookshops to drum up sales. As the book is entitled, 'Make your dreams come true' and makes the strange claim that all you have to do is place a 'Cosmic Order' after which everything is automatically granted to you, I am prone to wonder why Cainer doesn't follow his own advice and do the same. Book sales should then go through the roof without him having to lift a finger! Obviously something is wrong. However...

I have indicated to Cainer my intention to turn up at some of these personal appearances and ask some of the questions he has so far refused to answer. I would particularly like to know who is reading the Tarot cards and giving 'answers to pressing questions' or who typing out his 'personal' reports while he is on tour. Members of the media are being informed and doubtless they, too, will also want answers.

If you notice that Cainer is in town near you, why not drop in and ask him the same questions? I will gladly print his replies for all to see.

25th July 2006. Jonathan Cainer - Cosmic Ordering.

As concerns over this publication grow I have sent the following email to Cainer in an attempt to ascertain his motives.

Dear Jonathan.

Doubts are being cast on the efficacy of the methods you propose in your book, and there are those who say that this is just another get-rich-quick scheme that will only make money for you and your publisher. In order to sweep away these concerns I suggest the following:

1]. In the town where I live there are elderly people who will suffer greatly this winter due to lack Government concern and the unprecedented greed of power suppliers. Because they can't afford the exorbitant fuel charges they will have no choice other than to turn down the heat even further thus putting their lives in danger. A free copy of your book should help solve their problems instantly.

2] The Farplace Animal Sanctuary has to struggle to pay the bills while the good people who work there unpaid attempt to rescue and care for abandoned animals and give them a loving home for life. A free copy of your book ought to solve all their problems immediately.

If you believe in the principles you advocate in your book then this small gesture should go a long way towards removing the doubts and would prove that you are a caring person rather than someone who seeks only profit. I have taken the liberty of publishing this email on my web site so that people may see for themselves your generosity and belief in your system.

26th July 2006. Jonathan Cainer.

Jonathan Cainer reveals on his web site today that he 'found himself in Penzance with his daughter'. Nice. Apparently indifferent to the problems of ordinary people who are paying him to 'read their Tarot cards' he has a jolly old romp by the seaside. Time and time again I have asked Cainer who is reading the cards only to be ignored, but if he thinks that I will eventually give up he is very much mistaken. This is a scam and I won't rest until it is stopped.

27th July 2006. Jonathan Cainer's lack of qualifications.

If you had any doubts that my assertion that Jonathan Cainer has no Astrological qualifications and that his claims were false, have a look at this:

Extract from Wikipedia

As a young man, Jonathan assiduously worked through the diploma course of the UK Faculty of Astrological Studies. When the final submission of course work was due on the Friday, his class were told they needn't hand their course-work in until the following Monday (this version of events was disputed by the Faculty at the time), giving them the weekend to polish the work. Whatever the facts, on the Monday Jonathan and three fellow students had their entries refused as it was three days past the deadline. The three other students retook the year and went on to pass their diplomas, but Jonathan got the strop and decided he would make good anyway, without the qualification! He started to write sun-sign columns, and went on to become one of the highest-earning astrologers of all time.

Good Morning.

28th July 2006. Ordering online.

Just when you thought it was safe to order online...

So, you see an item you like on a web site, place an order and it turns out not to be what you thought it was, or there is some other problem and the advertiser won't budge. Easy, you think, contact the Advertising Standards Authority and get something done about it. Right? Wrong! The crackpots at the ASA don't recognise an advert on a web site as an advert, in their infinite wisdom they have defined it as 'information' and is, as they put it, 'beyond their remit'. Nice one! Even more bizarrely, a fraudulent advert is also, 'beyond their remit'.

But it gets sillier. If, for example an advert is found wanting in a magazine the ASA will usually do something about it and have the advert altered or pulled. If the same advertiser decides to put exactly the same advert on a web site - hard luck, it is now 'beyond their remit'. Is this daft or what?

So what we have in effect is a scammers charter in which anyone can advertise whatever they like on the Internet, say what they like, cheat, steal, mislead, whatever, and the ASA will do nothing! Well I can - at least as far as Astrology is concerned. If I find cheats I will expose them for all to see. So before you think of purchasing anything from a supposed Astrologer, check with this site first. Even if the advert isn't mentioned you can always email me for advice - it will be impartial and fair. In the meantime the ASA is probably trying to find other ways of burying their head in the sand by coming out with even stranger definitions instead of getting on with the job of sorting out rogue advertisers.

31st July 2006. Jonathan Cainer - Cosmic Ordering.

Jonathan Cainer is taking time out - yet again - to push the sales of his get-rich-quick book. He can be found at  The Big Green Gathering at Fernhill Farm, Cheddar Road, Compton Martin, Nr Bristol, BS40 6LD between August 2nd to 6th. Go along and ask Cainer who is reading the Tarot cards and answering 'your pressing questions', or who is typing out his supposed 'personal' reports while he is away.

Incidentally, Cainer's Cosmic Ordering book sales are continuing to fall [Amazon] as the public lose interest and he is faced with competition from other writers also jumping on the bandwagon trying to cash in on the craze. As usual, no one is thinking about the countless thousands who will buy these books and get nothing in return.

Pasqualina and junk mail.

I have long suspected that the scam Astrologers were selling your email addresses to spammers. Today I began receiving junk mail in a mailbox I created specially for the purpose of checking out Pasqualina, As there is no other way in which this address could be in circulation, it has obviously been sold on despite the assurances given by her. If you don't want to be ripped off and then bombarded with junk mail, stay away from Pasqualina alias Sara Freder. Incidentally, some of the emails received were malicious and fraudulent, intended to deceive or transmit viruses.
