Good morning.
1st May 2006. Ascending Signs. Today, sees the the final article in the series on Ascending Signs which, judging from the response, has been very successful. With this in mind I have decided to continue by featuring other aspects of birth chart analysis and interpretation, so if you haven't got an accurate birth chart please take advantage of by completely free offer. Do bear in mind that if you already have a chart, chances are it is wrong because most free charts from web sites are automatically produced by computers which probably haven't been set up correctly. For example, if your chart states Placidus or other quadrant system Houses it is practically useless because one of more planets could be in the wrong House. For accuracy, the House system must be Equal House. Similarly, unless the right Orbs are used, important aspects may be missing or false ones generated. Don't take chances - get a chart calculated and drawn up to the correct standards - absolutely free and without strings - and learn about yourself and real Astrology.
4th May 2006. Learning Astrology. When I first began to look seriously at Astrology I did what most would do, got hold of a book. After wading through what seemed to be incredibly complex calculations and having to cope with a virtually unreadable Placidus House system, I eventually gave up, and I suspect most folk do the same. However, curiosity being a major drive in my nature eventually brought me back to the subject which I eventually began to understand after a long and arduous process involving many books. I resolved to address this problem, because it seemed to me that all this unnecessary complication could be removed and a logical system of study planned out. My Professional Course is the result of years of hard work, making the process of learning much easier. No books, no hidden extras, full backup when you need it, and lots of useful information you won't find in books or other courses. Try it.
6th May 2006. The Art of Prediction. It was once said by some wit that making predictions was quite easy - it's getting them right that's the problem! The Met. Office and various Government bodies make regular predictions - sorry, they don't like them to be known as predictions, so they talk of forecasts instead. The method used is quite interesting, because they use past events to forecast future events. Now this may seem okay, and to listen to the boffins and politicians one would think that the method was, and is, infallible, but it isn't. And why, for instance, don't we get an apology when they get it wrong? An example of this method can be seen virtually every day at the racecourse. The 'favourite', is the horse the bookmakers consider has the best chance of winning, based mainly on past performance - form in other words. Yet it is a known fact that less than 25% of favourites go on to win their races. Pretty poor forecasting if you ask me!
Using past data to predict the future is doomed to failure in the long run because the past is no guarantor of the future. No matter how clever the mathematics, a significant number of these forecasts fail - and will continue to fail. To get round this problem we now have forecasts that are 'updated', in other words changed to suit any new circumstances - circumstances that should have been seen and allowed for in the first place. This isn't forecasting at all. Let me put it this way. If you back a horse, you do so before the race begins and that's it. You have made you prediction and put money on it. What you can't do is change your bet halfway through the race because your horse is losing badly, and you certainly can't change your bet when in the final furlong you once again see that your new bet is floundering as well. No bookmaker in his right mind would consider such a daft bet, yet the same process is used time and time again to forecast the weather, the economy, and a host of other things, and we the public are supposed to believe these so-called 'facts'.
An Astrological prediction is quite different because it doesn't use past events; forecasts are based entirely on future trends that can be seen quite clearly. So why is it that so many Astrological predictions fail? Quite simply because they are made by people who have little or no knowledge of Astrology and make the mistake of inflating generalities out of all proportion. Sun Sign forecasts are a typical of this type of silliness. The strength of the aspect is a major factor in assessing future trends, but there are other considerations only a skilled Astrologer would know about. If we add to this the fact that some of the Sun Sign Cowboys simply say the first thing that comes into heads, we have a recipe for nonsense rather than accuracy. Astrology can do better - much better - but there needs to be an end to the Sun Sign nonsense and a return to traditional Astrology before that can happen.
22nd May 2006. Jonathan Cainer & Cosmic Ordering. I note that Jonathan Cainer is having difficulty writing his new book on Cosmic Ordering, which is hardly surprising seeing that he knows little about the subject. Why doesn't he take his own advice and ask the Universe for help? That way it should all be completed by weekend!
His latest venture is to launch a Tarot card reading service. May I ask the obvious question? What exactly does he know about Tarot divination? I suspect very little. If you think Cainer is going to spend time shuffling cards just for you think again. I suspect that this is another computerised scam like his 'personal' reports. Don't waste your money unless you want the usual vague waffle - consult a genuine Tarot card reader instead.
24th May 2006. Knowing the future. Knowing what the future might hold for you is certainly important to most folk, which is why they consult their 'daily stars' ; yet this is not the answer. The vast majority of predictions made by Sun Sign Astrologers will fail, so they cannot be taken seriously. The only way to be sure of what is likely to happen is by consulting a genuine Astrologer who will then assess the trends occurring in your own chart.
One of the techniques used by Astrologers is to examine the birth for aspects from the outer planets - Pluto, Neptune & Uranus - as these will indicate major life changes. The current series of articles shows what these are likely to be and if you follow them through to the end you should have a pretty good idea of how your life will shape up in a general sense.
25th May 2006. Seeing the future? Continuing with the theme of seeing into the future there is a choice between Astrologers and psychics. Each in their own way has the ability to do this and it is a matter of personal preference as to which is best. Naturally, I favour Astrology, but I have met some pretty good psychics along the way. The problem is always one of trying to find genuine practitioners as there is an army of frauds and cheats out there. Beware especially of those psychic help lines that charge by the minute. More often than not they are manned by people who are about as psychic as a brick but who have been specially trained to keep you on the line for as long as possible with no chance of getting your money back when they are proved wrong or fail to come up with anything valid. Real practitioners have a set fee and try to be as helpful as possible - so don't be swayed by flashy adverts and outrageous claims.
26th may 2006. Compatibility. Ever wondered why you seem to get on with someone almost immediately, that there seems to be an instant rapport, or why some people simply turn you off without any logical reason? Astrology may provide the clue. The Ascending Sign governs how a person presents themselves to the world, it is the first point of contact. If the ruling planets of the Ascending Signs of the people involved are in harmony then the rapport will be almost instant. Likewise, favourable aspects to and from planets in the 1st House will also act as a catalyst. Instant dislike is likely to be caused by unfavorable aspects. Of course this is not the complete picture, but it does explain a great deal.
30th May 2006. Relocation Astrology [AstroCartography]. During the last few years there has been an upsurge in interest in this technique, perhaps due to its novelty, or more likely the hype. Briefly, the planets at birth are projected on to a map of the world - or any part of the world - as lines of supposed 'influence'. The theory is that by relocating to a place on a favourable line one's life can be improved. Conversely, one should move away from a line of negative influence. Sounds good, but it it really?
To begin with, there is absolutely no proof that these lines have any influence at all - there is speculation, but no proof. Perhaps one day there will be, but that will take a long time and considerable research done with an open mind. The main problem, and one missed by the proponents, is that the lines move with time. I did a quick experiment and found that the line I chose at random moved 11 miles in just one minute! Now, how many people know their time of birth accurately - say within a minute. Not many. In fact having a birth time that is within plus or minus 10 minutes is quite rare, and in 10 minutes you could be over 100 miles out. So, given this fact how can anyone be expected to consider moving to a new location based on AstroCartography when the actual position of the line they are interested in could be a hundred or even several hundreds of miles away from its true position?
My best advice would be to ignore this technique and save your money on what could prove to be a useless survey.
31st may 2006. The continuing saga of Jenna the Astrologer. You may remember that during a survey of bogus websites and Astrology scams I ran a test on Jenna, [www.aboutastro.com] the results of which can be seen here.
The other day I received yet another e-mail from this person saying:
Hello, As she kindly gave me a link to ask questions, I decided to ask Jenna about the vitally important transit she constantly referred to, pointing out that I could find no evidence of this in my chart. I have to report that [surprise, surprise], no reply has been forthcoming. It would seem to confirm my suspicions that this lady - if indeed she actually exists - knows little or nothing about Astrology and the company responsible is using this as a cover in order to sell a computer report. Okay Jenna - prove me wrong.
Incidentally. The large sum of money won on a lottery or something similar has not materialised.
If you have had any bad experiences with this company please let me know. Your comments will be treated in strict confidence and will not made available to anyone else.
