Important notice. 22nd April 2009.

James Young has been advised by his doctors to take a complete rest for the next few weeks. Consequently, no orders for reports or tuition can be taken until he is sufficiently recovered to resume his duties. We will keep you informed of his progress.

Update:

We are pleased to report that James Young is now recovering from what turned out to be a serious illness and is able to answer emails and post comments. He should be able to take orders for reports soon.

A special thank you to those who wrote in expressing their good wishes.

December's daft prediction.

On the 4th December Sun Sign Cowboy Jonathan Cainer wrote:

While preparing my latest set of spoken predictions, I kept staring in amazement at next week’s Full Moon. One week from today, the Moon will be directly opposite Mars. Mars, in turn, will form a right angle to Uranus which is opposite Saturn. Think of the zodiac as a clock face. The Sun and Mars are at 6. Uranus is at 3. Saturn is at 9. Next Friday, the Moon turns full as it reaches 12. This is what we call a mutable cross. It is potent, intense and bodes wonderfully well for all who wish to create change!

This is complete nonsense. Anyone with even the slightest knowledge of Astrology knows full well that a Grand Cross - be it cardinal, mutable, or fixed - is an indicator of difficulties and stagnation, not an indicator of success, and certainly does not indicate change. References to this can be found in

I queried this with Cainer who, as is usual with Astrological questions, refused to reply. You may draw your own conclusions, bearing in mind that Cainer has been predicting great things throughout 2008, none of which appear to have happened.

Jonathan Cainer's predictions for 2009.

House prices may plummet further, more jobs may well be lost and many traditional industries may have to scale back... but the changes need only be temporary. Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling are in a good position to pressure the banks into keeping foreclosures to a minimum. Over in America, the last thing Barack Obama wants is more tent cities while houses rot empty. Many of us may worry, but few of us will lose our homes and none of us will freeze or starve in 2009.

Wrong! Try telling that to the huge numbers of people who have already been dispossessed by greedy banks and other money lenders not to mention the ones lined up for repossession as we speak. Repossessions are at an all time high and set to get worse; this government will do little to curb this.

None of us will freeze? It is estimated that 7 old age people will die every hour when the temperature drops.

New technologies, especially those involving space exploration and energy efficiency will yet create work for millions.

I can see no evidence of this. What Astrological reasoning is Cainer using here?

And whatever kind of year it prove to be economically, culturally, spiritually, romantically, psychologically, scientifically and politically, it will be one of the most exciting and rewarding times we have ever lived through.

I beg to differ. The steady ingress into Capricorn has only just begun to show the problems it can cause and the Saturn-Uranus opposition can hardly be helpful.

Too little, too late.

King of the Sun Sign Cowboys Jonathan Cainer is not one of those people who cares to check his facts before uttering pronouncements, as many of you will have seen in the past. Recently he has made it known that the present economic downturn was triggered by the Saturn-Uranus transit. If he had bothered to check the ephemeris he would have seen that the transit began on the 27th October 2008, long after this problem began. He goes on to say: it only brings us closer to the great, positive transformation that this situation is eventually going to bring to the whole world. And what exactly is this great positive transformation? Poverty? Bankruptcy? Unemployment? Oh I know - more money for banks.

Not another comet!

You may remember Jonathan Cainer's obsession with Comet Holmes, well Jonathan has now found a new comet to make predictions about. It is Comet Lulin. Now despite the fact that comets are not, and never have been, part of the Astrological scheme Jonathan makes overtures about them as positive forces for good. Folklore begs to differ by classifying them all as heralds of disaster. Despite this, Jonathan is now winding up for a major enthusiasm, beginning with:

Comet Lulin has never been seen before. We can't be sure it will become visible with the naked eye later in February, but it might. If it does, we should expect a change that somehow touches the hearts of millions.

My prediction. Total nonsense. Let's see who is right.

Latest update: Jonathan now says of comet Lulin: Around the world, across the internet, a new movement of wealth creation is about to be born. I repeat; Comets are NOT part of Astrology nor do they indicate prosperity.

Comment. Scams.

It is now the festive season, a time when many of you will be looking for a forecast for the year ahead or need to consult an Astrologer about an important matter. Do bear in mind that the vast majority of Astrologers on the Internet are fakes or outright frauds. Here are some of the traps to avoid.

1] 'Instant' report offered. Be aware, it takes quite a long time for an Astrologer to produce a report - it cannot be delivered to you in an instant. What you are getting here is a cheap computer report which could have been produced by anyone, and I do mean anyone. Some so-called Astrologers also use computer reports to boost their income, so don't be fooled by a celebrity name offering you a report instantly - it is still a cheap computer report bearing little resemblance to the real thing and which in many cases has been generated using software that hasn't even been set up properly, resulting in serious errors.

2] Single page web sites. These are usually a dead give away for a scammer such as Jenna or Pasqualina, but there are others. Check them out on my list here

3] Your Saturn return. Surely this is a joke? No, afraid not. it is often used to impress clients and, of course, extract large fees. The reality is that Saturn Returns are nonsense, Any supposed information generated by this technique can easily be explained elsewhere in the chart. And, more importantly, it simply isn't possible to produce an accurate chart for a Saturn return. Tests using three different types of Astrological calculation software resulted in three entirely different charts! As I said - complete nonsense.

4] Bogus qualifications. These include BScs, PhDs, and even claims of psychic powers. Genuine Astrologers don't need to brag and they certainly don't use paranormal methods - they simply read charts according to time-honored methods. The words Psychic and Astrologer are not connected. In any case, how do you know they are telling the truth?

5] Bogus references and claims. It is a plain fact that anyone can say whatever they want on the Internet, a fact made use of by scammers such as Pasqualina. Just because someone claims to have made accurate predictions or displays appreciative letters from clients does not mean they are true. Beware.

6] Money back guarantee. Really! Ever tried to get your money back. Many have and very few have succeeded. You are likely to be ignored and, worse still, there is little you can do about it. Don't be fooled by this.

Jenna and Rochelle.

Many of you will have fallen foul of Jenna and other scammers, including Rochelle Gordon. Information has recently come to light suggesting that these two are the same person, the address for both appears to be:

167 Cherry St. PMB 292, Milford, CT 06460-3400.

So, if money has been taken from your account without permission, or the report you ordered never turned up, or if that report was complete nonsense, then you know where to complain.

See my 1st challenge to critics.

So far out of all critics only 2 have applied. One failed with a score of 1/10, lovasip backed out [twice], and roybot promptly gave up before applying. unclefeedle, shanedk, and many others have been repeatedly asked to take my challenge but have evaded doing so. Lennyhipp refused outright.  It proves my point that critics have no knowledge of Astrology other than hearsay, yet still presume they are qualified to criticise it. Also, many of them rant and rave about science vs. Astrology yet almost none of them have any scientific qualifications.

See my 2nd challenge to critics.

Critics, like unclefeedle and shandk, constantly make assertions that Astrology does not work, despite the fact that they know nothing about Astrology and can provide no proof. I challenge these critics by offering to produce a hand-typed Astrological character profile free of change and to publish my finding for everyone to judge. Both feedle and shanedk failed the challenge. Both also avoided my 1st challenge.
